King’s Award for Voluntary Service – awardees announced

Four fantastic Kent organisations have received the King’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2023. The Award celebrates the outstanding work of local volunteer groups across the UK and is awarded for life.

The four award recipients were a community radio station for Thanet, Academy FM Thanet, which was recognised for its support to the community. Child’s Vision based in Maidstone was recognised for its work supporting children to break the cycle of domestic abuse. SATEDA gained an award thanks to its role in supporting women and children to be safe and recover from domestic abuse. And another local radio station, Sittingbourne Community Radio, was recognised for providing local news, views and entertainment along with promoting community integration and wellbeing.
