Befriender

for Belive Medway

Belive is a befriending service for individuals with a mild to moderate learning disability aged 18 plus, who are socially isolated and lonely in Kent and Medway.

As a result of the current climate, their face-to-face befriending service has shifted to social media, telephone, Zoom and WhatsApp video, and there is currently a waiting list for people wanting a befriender. Belive is therefore looking for more volunteers, particularly male volunteers, and will provide training and expenses.

Bereavement Volunteer

for CHUMS Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing Service

We are looking for individuals, who would like to give their time as a support to Children & Young People across the region.  Volunteers support our delivery of bereavement groups for Parents/Carers and Children and Young People up to the age of 25.

We work with a multidisciplinary team of professionals and the Volunteers would enhance the service and support the Children in various different ways.

They would attend the workshops and explain ‘CHUMS’ objectives.

Our Volunteers are all committed to making a difference to the lives of Children, Young People and their families.

Our Bereavement Volunteers will undergo training delivered by our team.

We support our Volunteers by offering a regular ongoing training programme and a bi-monthly communications meeting. We also offer support and supervision at any time.

This service supports the Children & Young People in Kent who have experienced bereavement.

It is a holistic approach and it is important to understand the issues that children & young people face.

The Volunteer would need to enjoy Children’s company and have a genuine concern for the emotional wellbeing of the Child.

All our Volunteers will undertake training in Safeguarding & Manual Handling.

Volunteers can claim for their travel expenses.

All Volunteers must be over 18 but no upper age limit.
